Taking a personal day – going to the blue hole with the family!

In my opinion, you could scour the world and you wouldn’t find a more beautiful place than this and it’s right in our back door (sort of). The “Blue Hole” in Soddy Daisy, TN is one of our absolute favorite places to go as a family. Unfortunately we usually only get to go once or twice during the summer months. The water is crystal clear and refreshing (especially after a 30-40 minute hike). If you like to hike and/or swim then this is the place for you and your family!
Just check the weather before you go. We ended up getting caught in a severe thunderstorm. Fortunately we had great shelter under the huge boulders. I personally love a good thunderstorm and we had the perfect view under our rock. There’s a song that I kept thinking about and the only words that were coming to mind were “He’s my shelter from the storm”. God provided the perfect shelter for us just like He always does.
All in all, the whole day was an awesome time spent with my boys!

Here are directions if you’d like to go…
From Hwy 27 out of Chattanooga take the Hwy 153/Dayton Blvd/Dayton Pike exit. Go north for 2.8 miles on Dayton Blvd/Dayton Pike until you reach Montlake Rd. Take a left/west on Montlake Rd. Go 1.1 miles on Montlake Rd. to sign that says “BOWATER; North Chickamauga Pocket Wilderness”. Turn left here to parking area.

What to take if you go – backpack, swimsuit, water, snacks, sandwiches, towel, snorkel set, inflatable raft, bug spray, first aid kit, camera, phone, plastic trash bag, water shoes (my Keen’s were perfect!).

And this is what you might look like afterwards! ๐Ÿ™‚

Photographing a Senior guy on location – Chattanooga Senior Portrait Photographer

It’s true that I photograph more senior girls than I do senior guys. Why is that? There are so many cool looks to be captured.
If there are any senior guys out there reading this, do your mom a favor and get your senior portraits taken just for her. She will appreciate it! Come to think of it, that would be the perfect Mother’s Day gift for her. Here are a few examples from a recent senior guy session. I knew this particular guy when he was just a baby.

Spring Mini Sessions are almost here!

One of the best things about being a photographer is the excitement of finding a new location to photograph!
I can’t wait to use this location for my upcoming mini sessions!
I don’t know if you can tell in the pictures, but the honeysuckles are in full bloom right now and Bryson loves what he calls “energy juice”.
Anyone know what these yellow flowers are called that are all over the ground? I don’t know how much longer these flowers will be here at this location, but was very happy to have seen them there when we did this session of Bryson.
My only regret with these pictures is that I wish I would have had a pair of boots for Bryson!

Great pictures, Bryson is a natural!

Looks like an awesome place too!

I believe I was told that those flowers are a type of buttercup.
